IT IS OUR TIME
[ABSTRACT]
This is an open-ended project that will be completed together with the audience in the future. I have designed a website to gather new concepts of time from people who want to challenge the modern concept of time (24 hours/7 days). For example, some people experience a 21-hour day or an 8-day week, while others perceive time through hunger rather than a clock. The main visual of my project is a clock, where each new form of time adds another tick mark. (For my graduation project, I’ve built the website and designed the publication, but collecting new forms of time will happen post-graduation). Currently, my main visual is a clock with 19 tick marks (having gathered 7 new concepts of time so far). In the future, I will collect more, and the main visual will evolve as the marks increase. (The logo and other applications will change accordingly.) I don't know how many new time forms I'll collect, how long the project will take, or what the final main visual will look like—this is a project left up to “time.” Ultimately, I want to use this long-termism design to challenge the fast-paced nature of today's design industry and society.
