TAILS
[ABSTRACT]
The "Tails" service design project redefines bakery operations and sustainability responsibility. The system utilises two sizes of reusable boxes (divisible into six flat panels) available for purchase or hire, transforming bread offcuts into a unique brand feature and reward. Customers receive offcut rewards when shopping with these containers, creating a shared responsibility cycle. Four large containers behind the counter form a data visualisation system, showcasing daily waste reduction progress. Inspired by Norwegian research, this solution targeting bread-end wastage offers the industry a new sustainable pathway.
