SAME FRUIT, DIFFERENT STORY
[ABSTRACT]
As global concern for the environmental impacts of food production grows, avocados have faced criticism for their ecological footprint. While these issues spotlight broader problems within the food industry, Australian avocados are produced under stringent environmental standards, promoting ethical consumption. Despite these advancements, Australian consumers remain unaware of the sustainability of local avocados, with significant gaps in consumer recognition and understanding. "In every word, there’s a choice; context shapes the story. Would you rather... Strike gold ? or... Have lightning strike you? Just like the word "strike," the word “avocado” tells a different story based on its origin. So, would you rather choose unsustainably farmed avocados or Australian avocados? Same fruit. Different story. Know your avocados—local, sustainable, and packed with flavour."
