ONE MAN’S TRASH

[ABSTRACT]

‘One Man’s Trash’ is a photographic journal of the Camberwell Sunday Market, a stall and car-boot community flea market. The market itself exists for only half a day, converging every Sunday morning, otherwise existing as a carpark to local stores. The site’s impermanence creates an energetic yet chaotic atmosphere as you never know what treasure, or otherwise trash, you’ll find. Engaging with the space and documenting the average ‘market-goer’, the publication employs a variety of techniques, such as observational photography, Risograph printing on cotton-composite paper and Fukurotoji binding, creating beautiful, one-of-a-kind handmade object and record of the market. ‘One Man’s Trash’ is a photographic journal of the Camberwell Sunday Market, a stall and car-boot community flea market.
