[ABOUT ANTHOLOGY]

Libraries are designed to make tasks routine, reduce uncertainty, increase predictability and to centralise authority. Libraries exhibit characteristics of bureaucratic tendencies and hold a strong data visualisation image. In contrast, through an array of Human Personality Questionnaires, [ANTHOLOGY] brings a warmth to the cold, highlighting distinctive unique human traits and recognising their collective identity as members of a common group of designers.

[ABOUT PERSONALITY INDEX]

Data can often seem dry—just numbers on a page. But by including a simplified Myers-Briggs Personality Test, we bring out the unique personality of the cohort in [ANTHOLOGY]. This personality assessment identifies each individual as one of four distinct types: Introverted-Judging, Introverted-Perceiving, Extroverted-Judging, and Extroverted-Perceiving. Each type reflects a person’s natural preferences for directing energy, processing information, making decisions, and navigating the world. Extraverted types thrive on interaction and new experiences, while Introverted types gain energy from reflection and focus. Judging types value structure, organization, and goal achievement, whereas Perceiving types are adaptable, open-minded, and spontaneous, embracing change and exploration. This framework offers a powerful way to understand and appreciate the strengths and unique perspectives within the group.

[ABOUT RMIT COMM DESIGN]

Communication Design is at the leading edge of making sense of the world. We work with people to bring new ideas to the surface through practice-based research, which we do by visualising complex situations, mapping the relationships between people and the world, and crafting ways to communicate these new knowledges in compelling ways. We face complexity with intellectual curiosity, drawing on multiple cultural experiences to give form to new futures.

In your undergraduate degree you will learn to apply, reflect, examine, and articulate design skills and practice to your chosen communities of practice and establish yourself upon graduation as a new contributor to your chosen field through thoughtful projects and reflection. Major areas of study include branding, publication, user experience, typography, strategic design, and service design.

In postgraduate programs you develop your established practice with research-led enquiry into and through design. Situated at the edge of current practice, in partnership with industry and key practitioners in the field. Individual research projects engage students to exemplify their research-based design thinking in a fully-fledged critical design project.
