THE SUBWAY
[ABSTRACT]
‘The Subway’ examines the media’s glamorisation of New York City in the 90s. The street culture of the time was riddled with violence, robbery, drug use, and vandalism, infamously contributing to one of the deadliest decades in modern times. Pop culture has and continues to glorify this gritty, hostile reality, creating a romanticised image of the harsh urban landscape.
