DECONSTRUCTING THE IMAGE: PRACTICE BASED RESEARCH IN IMAGE ALTERATION & MANIPULATION
[ABSTRACT]
Deconstructing the Image is a practice-based exploration of image alteration and manipulation, investigating how digital media shapes human perception and the ‘digital aesthetic.’ By systematically altering a single image through techniques like pixelation, Fourier transformations, and data bending, the project examines technology’s evolving impact on visual culture. These experiments provide insights into how digital manipulation continually reshapes our understanding of images in the digital age.
